Dog Park Etiquette

Posted 12 May 2016

Are you up to date with dog park etiquette? Please remember, off leash dog parks are not the best environment for every dog. There are plenty of great activities that you and your dog can experience while on a leash, too! If you do choose to use dog parks here are some tips:

  • Don’t enter unless you can see all owners are present and attentive to their own pup (which includes no scrolling through their phones)
  • Ensure your own dog is well socialised and has great recall BEFORE you head to the off-leash park.
  • If your own dog, or another person’s dog is not interacting appropriately (such as running up and mugging others in the park), it’s a good idea to leave.
